Melody Arabo, a much-loved third rank teacher at Walled Lake’ersus Keith Elementary School, would be the new Michigan Educator of the Year.
With more than A dozen years of classroom practical knowledge, she was chosen from 238 applicants for any annual award given by the state’s department of education.
Arabo identified her passion for helping while working as any paraprofessional with students learning how to speak English at the local elementary school.
“I am honored to possess this opportunity,” she claims. “Being in this part makes me positive, because I will have a voice for teachers as well as students across the express.”
According to a press release on the state, Walled Lake Consolidated Schools Superintendent Kenneth Gutman praised Arabo, saying she’s “an inspiration for you to her students along with their parents. Her ability to reach each of the woman students from a selection of backgrounds is simple outstanding. She represents the ideal combination of scholarly ability, motivation, determination, maturity along with an unmatched child-centered passion,”
As any 2017 winner, Arabo gets a fit at the Michigan Plank of Education’s per month meetings, aimed at enhancing the educational system state.
Her goal, she says, is to create think and district careers for teacher market leaders, so they have a tone of voice, too.
“Many coaches would like a chance to affect decisions without walking away from their true passion,” she shows, “which is working with kids.”
